Stuff.



The week was alright, but the way it ended makes everything look bad. On that note, I could write a book on my experiences in hiring. I wouldn't, because I don't want to relive them.

That apart, things have been interesting nowadays. On the personal front, I've started dabbing poster colour on paper and calling it "art". I'd been interested in art when I was younger, and I'm kind of reaching into some of those forgotten hobbies. One way art is therapeutic is that I suck at it (ok not entirely) - and so, it sure as hell feels good to not care that I'm not good at the thing :)

Am I ready to display my creations? I guess so.

There are some things you simply do not do. Like joke about the private parts of people who have not invited such jokes upon themselves (I do not know if Sherlyn Chopra is in that category, but this post isn’t about her). Right? The Palace Of Illusions

Sigh, Karna. Karna had enough troubles of his own (all of which, by the way, were cruel twists of fate, inflicted wholly by others), but Chitra  Banerjee   Divakaruni gives him another reason why he was victimized by life. In her novel, The Palace Of Illusions, which is an interpretation of the Mahabharata through Draupadi’s eyes, Banerjee gives him unrequited love to deal with. It’s a poignant book, and since I personally love the Mahabharata, and also love exploring the emotional politics and intricacies behind each of its events, I enjoyed the book.   I sometimes had a problem with the writing style, which is lucid but modernized at times, as though Banerjee were trying very hard to fit Panchaali into the Internet world. That Karna had a marital life of his own (I read only later, I confess, that he had two wives, Vrushali and Supriya) is not mentioned anywhere in this story, which basically says that Draupadi was secretly attracted to Karna all her lif...
